Or, si le bénéfice de ces médicaments est clair chez les personnes qui ont déjà eu des problèmes cardiovasculaires (infarctus, AVC), il est moins net chez celles qui n’en ont jamais eu. De plus, les effets secondaires de ces médicaments peuvent être importants. Il est donc nécessaire de bien peser le pour et le contre, au cas par cas, avant de les prescrire. Le Centre fédéral d’Expertise des Soins de santé (KCE) a développé un outil interactif permettant de visualiser les bénéfices et les risques des statines. WG 169.5 Artificial heart. Heart-lung machineAbstract: Chaque année, plus de 10 000 Belges apprennent qu’ils sont en état de décompensation cardiaque. Un certain nombre d’entre eux, en décompensation sévère et évolutive, peuvent entrer en ligne de compte pour une transplantation cardiaque, mais étant donné la pénurie de donneurs, la liste d’attente est très longue. Pendant la période d’attente, il est possible de leur implanter un dispositif d’assistance ventriculaire pour soutenir la fonction de leur cœur. L’INAMI rembourse 50 de ces dispositifs par an. Le Centre Fédéral d’Expertise des Soins de Santé (KCE) a évalué dans quelle mesure il serait coût-efficace de placer aussi ce type d’appareil chez les patients qui n’entrent pas immédiatement en ligne de compte pour une transplantation.
D’un point de vue médical, les dispositifs d’assistance ventriculaire apportent une réelle plus-value car ils améliorent tant la survie que la qualité de vie des patients. Mais leur coût est très élevé en comparaison avec celui du traitement classique. D’un point de vue d’économie de la santé, il n’y a donc pas d’arguments en faveur d’un élargissement de leur remboursement.Contents note: PRÉFACE 1 -- SYNTHÈSE 2 -- 1.
