Een eerste oefening toonde aan dat een dergelijke meting een haalbare kaart is, als er aan een aantal voorwaarden voldaan wordt, zoals een goede samenwerking tussen de betrokken administraties en een betere beschikbaarheid van de gezondheidsdata. Zo zijn er nog steeds geen recente nationale gegevens over de sterfteoorzaken. Uit de voorlopige metingen lijkt de Belgische zorg goed toegankelijk te zijn. De Belgische preventieve zorg behaalt positieve punten op het vlak van vaccinatie, maar er wordt nog onvoldoende op bepaalde types van kanker (bvb borst -of baarmoederhalskanker) gescreend, met bovendien een groot verschil tussen de regio’s. Andere punten roepen dan weer vragen op: het hoge aantal baarmoederverwijderingen, een toename van de keizersneden en een hoge blootstelling aan medische straling. Omdat het hier gaat om een pilootstudie moeten de resultaten ervan (tabel 2, p11) wel met de nodige voorzichtigheid worden geïnterpreteerd en gebruikt.
