The concept of ICPC-2 has not been changed but the main body of the actual classification has been completely revised to reflect the adequate use for an individual patient record and for research purposes. This now brings the printed version of ICPC-2 completely in-line with the electronic version previously only available through the Oxford Website for the journal Family Practice. ICPC-2 is patient-oriented rather than disease or provider-oriented. It encompasses both the patient's reason for encounter and the patient's problem. ICPC-2 is extensively used internationally and includes a detailed conversion system for linking the ICPC and ICD-10 codes published by WHO, additional inclusion criteria, and cross-referencing rubrics.
ICPC-2 has been developed based on the recognition that building the appropriate primary care systems to allow the assessment and implementation of health care priorities is possible only if the right information is available to health care planners.Contents note: 1 Introduction / 2 The structure of ICPC / 3 Episode of care : a central concept of general/family practice / 4 Use of ICPC for recording reason for encounter /5 Use of ICPC for recording health problems and process of care (interventions) /6 Inclusion criteria in ICPC /7 Severity of illness coding /8 Functional status assessment : the COOP/WONCA charts /9 References /10 International classification of primary care-2-revised : tabular list /11 Conversion codes from ICD-10 /12 Alphabetical index Record link: https://kce.docressources.info/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=403 Hold

From the moment of its publication in April 2000 this "ICPC-2-E" will serve as the standard for the use of ICPC-2 as a classification, both in electronic systems and in written form, formally replacing chapters 10 and 11 as printed in the book. However, chapters 1 to 9 of the book remain indispensable in order to understand the underlying principles and concepts of the classification, and contain information on the additional use of the Severity of Illness Coding (DUSOI/WONCA) and the Functional Status Assessment (COOP/WONCA charts). W 84.1 Health services. Delivery of health care. General coverage..Abstract: This book critically examines integrated care, looking at integration from an unconventional angle to reveal the tacit assumptions we make when we manage and change health services. Kaehne questions our premises on health services management, the motivations for change and the shortcomings of health policy in complex environments.
