WX 100 Hospitals and Other Health Facilities -- General worksAbstract: Het Federaal Kenniscentrum voor de Gezondheidszorg (KCE) berekende dat een materniteit jaarlijks minstens 557 bevallingen moet uitvoeren, om de kostprijs per bevalling te kunnen verlagen tot die van de efficiëntere materniteiten, en zonder dat daarbij de goede zorg in het gedrang komt. Verder moet elke vrouw (tussen 15 en 49 jaar) in ons land binnen een veilige tijdslimiet een materniteit met de wagen kunnen bereiken. Op basis van die criteria, dus een gegarandeerde efficiëntie, kwaliteit en toegankelijkheid, zouden 17 kleine materniteiten kunnen worden gesloten. Deze aanbeveling kadert in een internationale trend naar schaalvergroting van materniteiten. Bedoeling is daarbij niet om louter geld uit te sparen, maar om de middelen binnen de gezondheidssector zo doelmatig mogelijk in te zetten, zonder te raken aan de kwaliteit of de toegankelijkheid. WX 100 Hospitals and Other Health Facilities -- General worksAbstract: Le Centre Fédéral d’Expertise des Soins de santé (KCE) a calculé que, pour pouvoir ramener le coût par accouchement au niveau de celui de maternités plus efficientes, une maternité doit effectuer au moins 557 accouchements par an, sans que cela ne compromette la qualité des soins. En outre, chaque femme (âgée de 15 à 49 ans) de notre pays doit pouvoir rejoindre une maternité en voiture dans un délai sûr. Sur la base de ces critères, efficience, qualité et accessibilité garanties, 17 petites maternités pourraient être fermées. Cette recommandation s'inscrit dans une tendance internationale à l'augmentation de la taille des maternités. L'objectif n'est pas simplement d'économiser de l'argent, mais d'utiliser les ressources du secteur de la santé aussi efficacement que possible, sans affecter la qualité ni l’accessibilité des soins.
