Record link: https://kce.docressources.info/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=4482 Hold

KGA 5920 Prison administration. Prison disciplineAbstract: This volume recognizes and addresses the health care issues of prisoners, to establish best practices and to learn about approaches to these challenges from around the world. It presents new evidence on several emerging and classical prison health issues. The first goal of this volume is to address emerging issues related to health in prison. Second, it presents the most recent research-based evidence and translates it to the practice. The third goal, is that it allows for sufficient diversity while also incorporating updates of some important already recognized prison health.
The volume discusses prisons and the life and well-being of prisoners and staff, after growing problems as drug misuse (incl. tobacco smoking), infectious diseases (HIV/AIDS, hepatitis, STIs and TB), psychiatric problems, inadequate and unhealthy living conditions (incl. nutrition), overcrowding of prisons. These are addressed adequately in order to meet the international requirements of equivalence of health care.
The scope of this volume is at the same type specific and diverse enough to cover the interests of a large audience that includes many types of practitioners involved in health-related issues in the field of prison health care, such as psychologists, nurses and prison administration officers responsible for health care, legal professionals and social workers.Record link: https://kce.docressources.info/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=3917 Hold

Emergency Treatment ; Europe, Eastern ; Multiple Trauma ; Peer Review ; Periodicals ; Surgery ; Trauma CentersAbstract: Trauma causes individual patterns of injury and involves shock, fractures, soft tissue and organ injuries. Treatment therefore requires the joint effort of emergency medicine, orthopedic and trauma surgery, critical care medicine and rehabilitation. Both scientific progress and the in-depth experimental and clinical research within individual disciplines contribute to the ongoing continuous improvement of trauma care.
The European Journal of Trauma and Emergency Surgery aims to open an interdisciplinary forum that allows for the scientific exchange between basic and clinical science related to pathophysiology, diagnostics and treatment of traumatized patients. The journal covers all aspects of clinical management, operative treatment and related research of traumatic injuries.
Clinical and experimental papers on issues relevant for the improvement of trauma care are published. Reviews, original articles, short communications and letters allow the appropriate presentation of major and minor topics. The papers published are allocated to one of the following sections of the journal:
Biomaterials, Experimental Research, Foot and Ankle Trauma, Hand Trauma, Critical Care, Emergency Surgery, Disaster & Military Surgery, Neurotrauma, Pediatric Trauma, Pelvic Trauma, Polytrauma, Reconstructive Surgery, Spine Trauma, Sports Injuries, Skeletal Trauma, Visceral Trauma
The European Journal of Trauma and Emergency Surgery invites articles not only from Europe but also from non-European countries. The journal is peer-reviewed according to international standards and each paper submitted will be scrutinized by two or three referees and a biostatistical consultant. For articles describing important new findings, accelerated peer-review and fast track publication are made available.Contents note: IF : https://www.springer.com/medicine/surgery/journal/68

Computer Imaging, Graphics & Vision ; Data Interpretation, Statistical ; Software ; Systems AnalysisAbstract: This update to the classic book by ggplot2 creator Hadley Wickham upgrades the book to match the many upgrades to ggplot2 that have happened in the last five years. ggplot2 is a data visualization package for R that helps users create data graphics, including those that are multi-layered, with ease. With ggplot2, it's easy to : superimpose multiple layers (points, lines, maps, tiles, box plots) from different data sources with automatically adjusted common scales ; add customizable smoothers that use powerful modeling capabilities of R, such as loess, linear models, generalized additive models, and robust regression ; save any ggplot2 plot (or part thereof) for later modification or reuse ; create custom themes that capture in-house or journal style requirements and that can easily be applied to multiple plots ; approach a graph from a visual perspective, thinking about how each component of the data is represented on the final plot. This book will be useful to everyone who has struggled with displaying data in an informative and attractive way. Some basic knowledge of R is necessary (e.g., importing data into R). ggplot2 is a mini-language specifically tailored for producing graphics, and you'll learn everything you need in the book. After reading this book you'll be able to produce graphics customized precisely for your problems, and you'll find it easy to get graphics out of your head and on to the screen or page. New to this edition : brings the book up-to-date with ggplot2 2.1.0, including major updates to the theme system ; new scales, stats and geoms added throughout ; additional practice exercises ; a revised introduction that focuses on ggplot() instead of qplot() ; updated chapters on data and modeling using tidyr, dplyr and broom.
