Evidence-Based MedicineAbstract: One of the fundamental skills required for practising EBM is the asking of well-built clinical questions. To benefit patients and clinicians, such questions need to be both directly relevant to patients' problems and phrased in ways that direct your search to relevant and precise answers. In practice, well-built clinical questions usually contain four elements, summarised below.
One of the benefits of careful and thoughtful question-forming is that the search for evidence is easier. The well-formed question makes it relatively straightforward to elicit and combine the appropriate terms needed to represent your need for information in the query language of whichever searching service is available to you.
Once you have formed the question using the PICO structure, you can think about what type of question it is you are asking, and therefore what type of research would provide the best answer.Link for e-copy: http://www.cebm.net/index.aspx?o=1036 Format of e-copy: Online [Free] Record link: https://kce.docressources.info/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=1101

Complementary Therapies ; Databases, BibliographicAbstract: The CAM-QUEST® databases have been designed as search tools for people interested in responsible information on complementary and alternative medicine (CAM). The aim of the databases is not to rate clinical studies but rather to point out that indeed a huge body of clinical research in the field of CAM does exist.
CAM-QUEST® is a European-wide unique search portal which is regularly updated. It was designed for people interested in looking for scientifically certified treatment options within complementary and alternative medicine. Thereby, CAM-QUEST® (amongst others) provides a solid ground for discussions on CAM in general as well as the integration of CAM in general health systems. In addition, CAM-QUEST® alleviates the preparation of manuscripts related to CAM and may stimulate the initiation or continuation of CAM research projects.Contents note: DISEASES -- Cancer -- Ear-nose-throat disorders -- Eyes -- Gastrointestinal tract -- Gynaecology -- Heart/circulation -- Immune system -- Infections -- Mental diseases -- Metabolism -- Muscoskeletal diseases -- Nervous system -- Obstetrics -- Respiration -- Skin -- Urinary tract -- TEHRAPIES -- Acupuncture -- Anthroposophy -- Ayurveda -- Bioenergetics -- Homeopathy -- Manual medicine -- Mind-body medicine -- Phytomedicine -- TCM

Clinical Medicine ; Evidence-Based MedicineAbstract: Clinical Evidence summarises the current state of knowledge and uncertainty about the prevention and treatment of clinical conditions, based on thorough searches and appraisal of the literature. It is neither a textbook of medicine nor a set of guidelines. It describes the best available evidence from systematic reviews, RCTs and observational studies where appropriate, and if there is no good evidence it says so.
Clinical Evidence is intended as a tool for clinicians, and thereby patients, to help them make evidence-based healthcare decisions. Our task is to provide information that is as accessible as possible without undue simplification. We aim to support the partnership between clinicians and patients that lies at the heart of good health care. We are working towards a future in which the information in Clinical Evidence can be personalised and synchronised with the electronic patient record, acknowledging that most interactions between patients and clinicians are complex and that 'evidence' is only one part of the equation.Record link: https://kce.docressources.info/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=14 Hold
